Contact Information

Contact is not as simple as it seems.

For Hen Hud team members and families: Team members are expected to possess their own cell phones and to follow @HenHudForensics on Twitter when we are on the road. This is how I herd them from place to place. Families can also follow postings on where we are and how we are doing. This is very useful when your students are desperately trying to pretend that you've disowned them. Please note that occasionally Twitter will not recognize certain cell phones.

If you are not a Twitter user, it is not hard to become one. Simply sign up at Twitter.com. You can follow us either on your computer or via cell phone. (Here's a good introductory article on Twitter from the Times, to get you started.) Students must follow @HenHudForensics with "Device Updates On," i.e., set to send all messages to their cell phones. It will be used sparingly.

For people attending tournaments when I'm in the tab room: Follow @DebateTab on Twitter for important real-time updates leading up to and during tournaments.

IF YOU HAVE A CELL PHONE AT A TOURNAMENT, REMEMBER TO SET IT ON VIBRATE SO THAT IT DOESN'T RING DURING ROUNDS.

Other venues: follow @jimmenick on Twitter for general stuff (and contacts) or Jim Menick on Facebook.

On a more Web Point One note, a simple email will arrive quickly if addressed to jim_menick@yahoo.com.

Cell phone number is 914-382-2661. Use this sparingly, as I hardly ever talk on the thing if I can possibly help it. I'm more likely to respond to a text, especially if I happen to be in the heat of tabification.
