The Metro-Hudson League Workshop (MHLW)

The Metro-Hudson League Workshop is a FREE one-day training program sponsored by the MHL for any and all interested parties. The goal is to provide instruction for new novices (total newbies) and intermediate debaters (second-year or lightly experienced third-year), as well as a chance for new coaches to meet the old-timers and pick up some pointers on running their programs. We will also provide instruction to parent judges on PF and LD. There are also modules for varsity students; in these modules we are expecting team leaders who will brainstorm how to develop their novices and work the ModNov topic with them. Administrators of the program are Jim Menick, Jon Cruz, Sheryl Kaczmarek and Militza Diaz.

The event will take place on October 5th at Bronx High School of Science. We are asking that MHL members, if at all possible, pay their annual dues of $100 at this event. These dues will cover all future registrations for the 2013-14 season. In other words, pay once and it lasts the whole year. Please note that NEW members of the MHL will participate for FREE for the entire 2013-14 season. (We’re not in it for the money; all we need is enough to cover the awards and some supply odds and ends).

A schedule for last year's event event is posted here. This year should look about the same, although we will add policy if we get enough applicants.
